Michael and Riham // Sheraton DTLA

It’s incredible to think that one little click of a button can change the course of your entire life. Riham accidentally added the wrong “Michael Hanna” on Facebook, and that’s how they met. I think that’s a pretty adorable way to meet. Riham was born and raised in Minnesota, and Michael in Southern California. Riham is so pleasant to be around; her kind and joyful demeanor puts everyone at ease. She’s calm and has a down-to-earth casual way about her. Being in a long distance relationship is tough, but Michael and Riham seemed so content to be in each other’s presence. They are both very family oriented. Her side had 150 guests join the wedding from Minnesota. That speaks volumes, because I’ve never experienced so many guests who traveled that far for a wedding before. One of the things that stood out to me about Michael is that he is very community-oriented. On top of his demanding medical career, he set up an entire camera and monitor system at St. Mark’s so the congregation can have a better viewing experience. Every person that has volunteered their time at a church knows that it can easily become a job in itself. When someone takes on a task like this in their free time, it generally shows their character because in our culture that is very individual based, our leisure time usually defaults to the “self.” Michael chose to do something challenging and for the betterment of other people, which stands out. There’s give and take in community building, and these two are the kind of people that no matter where they live, they will go the extra mile to create a community that will support them. Michael and Riham, I wish you two the best of luck in your future move to Florida! Thank you for choosing us!
