Téa Bat Mitzvah // LA River Studio

Téa’s Bat Mitzvah was at the LA River Studio which is an industrial chic venue with lots of backgrounds; even a vintage airstream! The event was lovely with the service and party at the same venue. Téa’s mother’s side is French, so it was fun to hear the language and accents throughout the event. Téa even did a portion of her service in French. My favorite thing about Bar/Bat Mitzvah's aside from taking photos is hearing the speeches during the service. I loved hearing the speeches that the parents wrote and also the speech Téa wrote to her parents, sister and immediate relatives. Every single service I have photographed has this formality as a part of the ceremony and the reason I like it and think it’s important is because it instills the practice of communicating kindness from a very young age. I think communicating appreciation consistently is one of the most important things people can do. It takes effort to organize thoughts and write them down on paper. Saying them publicly is not in a lot of people’s comfort zone, especially while in middle school. Téa’s dad even choked up a little bit during his speech! Téa is classy, eloquent and I sense she is becoming a very capable and hardworking young woman.

Thank you so much for having me be a part of your special day and very important life milestone!
